The Chair of Econometrics at the University of Mannheim is looking for a research assistant with project management responsibilities to provide thorough support on an Impact Evaluation project taking place in Egypt. The project aims to measure the impact of a health and nutrition intervention on the cognitive level of children in around 80 pre-schools in Upper Egypt.
Your tasks would include:
Provide assistance in overall logistics planning, including material acquisition and transportation
Coordinate and assist in recruitment and trainings of enumerators
Coordinate movements and pay-outs of enumerators
Assist in expenditure tracking and finance reporting
Other tasks, e.g. translation, reporting
You are a student or graduate (Bachelor or Master) of Economics, Political Science, Social Sciences, Business Informatics or in related field with proven experience in project management and good organizational skills. You feel comfortable with working independently in dynamic settings and know how to communicate in teams.
You have a strong command of English as well as proficiency in Arabic on a full professional level, including Arabic typing skills. Previous experience with living and/or working in Egypt is a strong asset.
You could start working in early April and would be available to work from Egypt until the end of June 2017, supporting the Chair of Econometrics of the University of Mannheim from there, under supervision of an Egypt-based researcher. You will work within a team of professional project managers and experienced researchers and gain hands-on experience in managing a large-scale impact evaluation (randomized control trial) in the fields of nutrition and education.
